C. Eric Rains, PLA

Eric launched the practice after 23 years in the industry. During this time, he practiced in the Fairfield County, tri-state area and Washington, D.C./Baltimore metro area. Eric is an accomplished Landscape Architect who has extensive experience in local, state and federal regulatory permitting processes. He balances this with deep ties to his community.

Eric received a Bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University and while there, performed internships with firms in Hilton Head, Memphis and Dallas. He served as the student representative to the faculty and as President of the campus chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architecture.

Following graduation some of Mr. Rains’ initial clients included the Landscape Architect of the Capitol in Washington, D. C. and St. Mary’s Seminary and University in Baltimore, International Headquarters. He also served as adjunct professor of landscape design at Montgomery College in Maryland.

With extensive experience in the municipal review and entitlement processes, Eric and the Firm has played a key role in getting hundreds projects approved in multiple states, off the ground and maintaining a active role in their construction. He and his projects have been acknowledged by multiple media outlets and won numerous awards, which include being a two-time recipient of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (CTASLA), most prestigious award, “Jury’s Award of Excellence” as well as The Urban Land Institute of Pittsburgh – Award for Excellence, Visionary Place.

Currently Eric serves on the Board of Directors of the Greater Norwalk Chamber of Commerce and is Chairman of The Norwalk Parking Authority – Park Norwalk. He served for multiple years on The Greenwich Architectural Review Committee as well as Chairman of Greenwich Green and Clean. He is a past President of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects and member of the Norwalk Mayors’ SoNo Task Force. He is licensed in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
