SoNo Ice House

This significant repurposed building will be home to the first indoor ice
skating rink in Norwalk since the 1970’s and is being designed by noted
architect, Bruce beinfield, FAIA, www.beinfield.com.  The site design
focuses on the parking areas andstorm water management practices.
The plantings for the parking areas are closely spaced canopy trees that
will provide heat reduction on cars and below.  Storm water on the site is
collected into a vegetated swale that will slow the water down, cool it off,
and purify it before depositing it into Long Island Sound.
